Truck loading is a labor-only service for customers who have rented their own moving truck and need professional help loading it. The art of loading a moving truck is more than just throwing boxes in — it requires understanding weight distribution, strategic stacking, and proper securing to prevent shifting during transport. NEM loading crews are trained in truck loading methodology: heaviest items (appliances, dressers, desks) go in first against the cab wall for weight distribution. Sofas and mattresses are placed upright along the walls. Boxes are stacked bottom-heavy with the heaviest on the floor. Fragile items are placed on top of stacks, never on the bottom. Every item is padded with moving blankets and strapped with ratchet ties to prevent any movement. Our crews bring their own equipment — dollies, furniture pads, straps, and shrink wrap — regardless of what came with the rental truck. They also handle furniture disassembly for items that are too large to fit through doorways or into the truck intact. A well-loaded truck is safer to drive, easier to unload, and reduces damage risk during transit.
Truck loading is priced by crew size and hours worked. A 2-person crew is standard for most 1-2 bedroom loads. Larger homes may need 3-4 person crews. Pricing is hourly with a 2-hour minimum. All equipment (dollies, pads, straps, wrap) is included. You see the hourly rate before booking and pay only for time used.
Yes. U-Haul, Penske, Budget, Enterprise, Ryder — any rental truck. Our crews are familiar with the layout, ramp styles, and tie-down points of all major rental truck brands and sizes.
Ideally, yes. Having items boxed, labeled, and staged near the exit significantly speeds up the loading process. Loose items take longer to wrap and load individually.
Our truck loading service is for rental trucks. For PODS, U-Pack, and other portable containers, see our PODS loading service which uses container-specific loading techniques.
Studio/1-bed: 10-12 ft truck. 2-bed: 15-17 ft. 3-bed: 20-22 ft. 4+ bed: 26 ft. When in doubt, go one size up — it is better to have extra space than an overloaded truck.
You are welcome to direct the process and load lighter items if you wish. However, our insurance covers our crew's work — if you lift something and get injured, that's outside our coverage.
Park the rental truck as close to your front door or loading area as possible — every extra step adds significant time over hundreds of items
Have the truck's loading ramp deployed and the rear door fully open before the crew arrives so they can start immediately
Label boxes with the room they came from AND a load priority (heavy/medium/light) so the crew knows stacking order at a glance
If your truck has built-in E-track rails, point them out to the crew — these anchor points make strapping more secure and efficient
Do a walkthrough of every room, closet, and storage area with the crew leader before they finish to catch anything left behind
